The findings of the global study in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute IAO revealed considerable potential for the improvement of light quality at the workplace: in questions on their current workplace, 30 % of study participants said that their workplace is incorrectly aligned to the window.

In their personal preferences, 82 per cent of respondents chose a lighting solution that combined direct/indirect light, yet in reality only 38 per cent actually have this lighting solution. In addition, the wellbeing of study participants with direct/indirect lighting at their workplace was evaluated significantly more positively than those with only direct lighting. The study showed a similar significance in the evaluation of light quality of the light sources used at the workplace: respondents rated LED most favourably. With regard to colour temperature preferences in the office, there is a heterogeneous distribution of between 3,000 to 7,000 Kelvin whereby users’ preference for 4,000 to 5,000 Kelvin is the most pronounced.
