LED and art: Measurement of lighting of Pablo Picasso‘s “Harlekin” in the Lindau Town Museum

Various lighting parameters that are particularly relevant for art were evaluated using a drawing by Pablo Picasso from 1916. The analysis examined electrical and photometric characteristics of the luminaires as well as illuminance, homogeneity, effective illuminance Edm and damage potential Pdm in accordance with CIE 157:2004. Hereby two spotlights with a halogen bulb as an illuminant  were compared with LED technology in several settings. The on-site measurements were made on 30 August 2011 during the Picasso exhibition in the Lindau Town Museum.
